Does My Company Need A Newsletter?

Feb 05, 2012

You’ve received newsletters from suppliers, and are wondering if your company could benefit from a newsletter. Here’s a few reasons why to consider your own company newsletter:

  1. A Resource: Keeps your client base up-to-date on new happenings at your company and the industry. Become the expert that they turn to with a question or problem.
  2. A Reminder: A newsletter keeps your name “top-of-mind” and reminds customers that you are there to meet their needs.

What to Include? Customer testimonials, related tips or articles, case studies, customer discounts or coupons. Contests or chances to win a free product or service are fun ways to get your customers involved also.

How Often? A newsletter’s frequency can vary. It depends on your industry and customer cycles. For some, 2- 4 times per year is enough. For others, monthly is better. If you’re not sure, follow this rule: less is more. You want to make sure that your newsletter is filled with information that is valuable. It’s better to send it out less, but filled with quality information that your customers can use and look forward to.

How do I Send it? Email or print….or both. Some customers prefer print, others email. You will find that customers have a distinct preference.
